The Tiger 110 Sports 650cc proved its reliability and speed by winning the Thruxton 500 in 1958. Mike Hailwood and Dan Shorey completed 220 laps of the 2.275 mile circuit in 7 hours and 35 minutes. The Bonneville was born a year later and was in effect a slightly modified Tiger (it sported the twin carb head). It goes to show racing really breeds pedigree.
