Performance Metals is a Pennsylvania based manufacturer of «premium» aluminum
sacrificial anodes. We use a special alloy made to the military specification MIL-A-24779,
which details the exact percentage content by element. The alloy used is a blend of aluminum
and zinc (5%) with a trace of indium. This mixture gives a better protection voltage and
ensures that the anode stays clean and corrodes evenly.
Performance Metals is the only supplier of the wear indicator.
Superior Aluminum/Indium alloy for
increased protection
Exclusive “Patent Pending” wear indicator
Unique attractive packaging
2 1/2 Times Lighter Than Zinc!
Better Protection:
Aluminum was originally introduced into
recreational boating for aluminum outdrives,
which are very prone to corrosion problems.
Aluminum is more active than zinc providing
a greater potential difference for cathodic
protection
Longer Life:
An Aluminium anode of the same size gives up to 50% additional life compared with zinc and 5 times compared with magnesium!
Remains Active in Freshwater:
Zinc anodes can form a coating in freshwater after a few months, which will stop them from
working
Environmentally Friendly:
Zinc alloy causes pollution, which is harmful to marine life. Aluminium is safe
